Cookie Info

  • Cookies are pieces of information stored by web pages on your computer. They are used to remember login information and other data. It is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. You will need to have cookies enabled to use the log in system. Check below to see if they are.

Lecture and Java Problems:

  • Try clearing your browser's cache
    • AOL users
      • On the AOL Toolbar, click Settings.
      • If you are signed on to AOL, click the By Category tab, then click Internet [Web] Options. If offline, click Internet Properties.
      • On the "General" tab in the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.
        Note: Select Delete all offline content to remove Web material you have saved for off-line review.
      • Click OK.
      • Click the AOL Browser tab.
      • Click Clear Storage.
      • Click Yes.
      • Click OK.
    • Firefox users
      • On the menubar, Click Tools
      • Click Options
      • Go to the Privacy section
      • Across from cache, Click clear
    • Internet Explorer users
      • On the menubar, Click Tools
      • Click Internet Options
      • On the General tab, click Delete Files
      • Check Delete all offline content
      • Click OK
    • Mozilla users
      • Click Edit from the Mozilla menubar
      • Click Preferences... from the Edit menu
      • Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the plus sign
      • Click Cache
      • Click the Clear Cache button
    • Netscape users
      • Click Edit from the Netscape menubar
      • Click Preferences... from the Edit menu
      • Expand the Advanced menu by clicking the triangle sign
      • Click Cache
      • Click both the Clear Memory Cache and the Clear Disk Cache buttons or, if you have 7.1 and up, click the Clear Cache button.
    • Opera users
      • Click Edit from the Opera menubar
      • Click Preferences... from the File menu
      • Click the History and Cache menu
      • Click Cache
      • Click ok to close the Preferences menu
  • Try clearing your Java cache
    • Click Start > Settings > Control Panel.
    • Double-click the Java Plug-in icon in the control panel.
      The Java Plug-in Control Panel appears.
    • Click the Cache tab.
    • Click Clear.
      A confirmation dialog box appears.
    • Click Yes to confirm.
    • Click Apply.

AOL users can also try optimizing your AOL browser settings

  • Start AOL from the AOL menu bar
  • Select Keyword > Go to Keyword
  • type the keyword preferences
  • Click Go

  • Select Essentials tab > Internet (Web) Options - Set Web browser options and properties
    Dialog box: Internet Options
  • Select Security tab
    Dialog box: Select a web content zone to specify security settings
  • Click Internet icon
  • Click Default Level (which sets the browser to Medium)
  • Select AOL Browser tab
    Dialog box: Web Graphics: Do you want Web graphics to be compressed? This will display Web pages quicker.
  • Click Never compress graphics
  • Click OK
  • Close AOL
  • Restart AOL

Login Problems

  • Most log-in problems are do to your browser blocking cookies, or pieces of information stored by web pages on your computer to remember login information and other data.
